Widefield Microscope with Deconvolution

DeltaVision

Detailed Specs:

The DeltaVison Imaging System by Applied Precision (now GE Healthcare) is a high-throughput microtiter plate based widefield deconvolution (image restoration) microscope. It is built on an Olympus IX71 inverted microscope with a 250 watt xenon lamp and a LED transillumination light source for fluorescent, DIC and 3D imagaing . The NanoMotion III microtiter plate stage can hold multiple format plates (96-, 384- and 1536 well microtiter plates) as well as traditional slides. Three objectives are supplied with the DeltaVision Core for a wide range of optical imaging. The system contains a 10 position excitation filter wheel and a 6 position emission wheel for wide range of fluorescent dyes.  The addition of the environmental chamber allows time-lapsed live cell imaging.

Hardware:

  • Stand: Olympus IX71 wide field inverted microscope
  • Objectives: 60X oil N.A. 1.42, 20X air, and 4X air
  • Filter Set: DAPI, FITC, TRITC, Cy5
  • Cameras: Photometrics CoolSnap HQ2
  • Incubation chamber with humidity, temperature and CO2 control
  • DeltaVision Specs

Advantages:

  • Best suited for relatively thin specimens (microorganisms, single cells, tissue sections)
  • Fully automated microtiter plate stage
  • Environmental chamber for live cell imaging
  • Powerful 250 watt Xenon lamp
  • Easy to use and operate

Limitations:

  • Sequential channel acquisition
  • Longer acquisition times
